About McCartin's Services

History of our company

For over thirty-five years, McCartin's Services, LLC has been owned and operated by Brian McCartin. Our company provides professional residential hot water extraction "steam" carpet cleaning, commercial carpet cleaning services as well as professional tile and grout cleaning, upholstery cleaning services, area rug cleaning and repair, and patio cushion cleaning with free winter storage. See all of our services.

It's important to know that when you work with McCartin's, you are not dealing with a here-today-gone-tomorrow company. Brian is still on each and every job. You will be dealing with the owner of the company, who cares about the end result and his clients' satisfaction.  Other companies will send technicians to your home who may not have the years of experience, nor be empowered to make decisions, recommendations, or changes to the work order. You can feel confident in our knowledge about the cleaning services being performed and about your particular floor covering.

The success of McCartin's carpet cleaning services business was earned the old-fashioned way—primarily through client referral and word-of-mouth.  Read our Google reviews. We recognize that the most important marketing that we'll ever do is giving you the best carpet cleaning service in your area. See what some of our customers are saying…

But enough about us. It’s really all about you, the customer, and your needs. Here's what we have to offer you:

  • We respect our clients, their time, and their homes and/or businesses.

  • We are punctual, and when we are running behind, we call you to keep you updated on our arrival.

  • When you call, you will receive a call back within 24 hours if you do not reach a live person.

  • We give every customer fair and honest service and pricing. We run monthly specials.

  • We are proud to be completely transparent and never upsell, and we give free estimates, so there will never be any surprises.

  • We are happy to educate our clients as much as they would like.

  • Why is a truck-mounted steam cleaning better than a Do-it-Yourself carpet cleaning machine?
Because our unit injects the water and cleaning agents into your carpet at a much higher pressure, meaning they give a deeper clean than any other machine. And their vacuum systems for removing the water and dirt are equally superior, doing a better job of removing both moisture and cleaning agents from your carpet pile. All this adds up to cleaner carpets and faster drying time.
  • Will you move furniture?
We clean open areas around your furniture with basic furniture moving (i.e., small coffee tables, chairs, sofas, ottomans). We require you to remove all breakables (i.e., lamps, pictures, any glass, trinkets, etc.) McCartin's Services will not move pieces that are too heavy, awkward, costly, or delicate to move. (i.e., china cabinets, entertainment centers, dining room, or conference tables).
  • How long does it take to complete professional carpet cleaning?
The amount of time it takes for carpet cleaning depends on how dirty the carpets are, how much furniture is to be moved, cleaned under, blocked, or tabbed, and which services you are having done.
  • How do you charge?
We do not charge by the room like some carpet cleaners. McCartin's Services only charges for what we clean. For example, if a room is 100 sf, but we clean around a sofa, then we deduct the square footage of the sofa from the price. see our pricing and specials
  • Why don't you list prices?
Price depends on several things: What is the service that is being provided, i.e., carpet cleaning, tile & grout cleaning, etc. view all the services we offer here What is the fabric that is being cleaned? Leather and micro-fibers are more challenging to clean than wool or olefin. If we are asked to work on a stain longer than our standard 30 minutes, we will charge more. However, we do offer monthly coupons, so there is always an opportunity to save money on our services. See our current offer.
  • What do I need to do before McCartin's Services arrives to clean the carpets?
We appreciate any loose items being picked up off the floor. Relocate any small pieces of furniture such as dining room chairs, magazine racks, etc. from the areas to be cleaned before we arrive. Remove breakables from any areas that we or our equipment will be cleaning or moving through. Upon booking with us, we will send you an informational email on how to prepare for our service call.
  • How long will it take my carpet to dry?
A few factors play into this timing—weather, temperature, humidity levels, and the type of material make up of the carpet. A carpet usually takes between 4–12 hours to dry. When we leave, your carpets will be slightly damp to the touch. To decrease drying time, keep the temperature at a comfortable level, use a fan, and open the windows on a nice day. These measures will expedite drying.
  • How soon can I walk on the carpeted floors after they have been cleaned?
You can walk on your carpet almost immediately after we leave as long as you are wearing clean or bootie-covered shoes. Heavy foot traffic is discouraged until your carpets are dry.
  • Do you guarantee that all spots and stains such as pet urine will be removed?
Unfortunately, no one can guarantee that every stain will be removed. We will try our best to remove every stain, but sometimes the stains will return. It may look like a stain is gone, but then it wicks up from the bottom and reappears. Occasionally a spill is caught between the carpet and the padding, and 2-3 hours after having the carpet cleaned, it returns. We will be happy to come back and try again if a stain reappears within a week. Please take a look at some of the results we have achieved.
  • Do you clean area rugs in-house, or do you clean them at your location?"
Yes…we do both. Some clients prefer having their rugs cleaned in their home. However, area rugs, especially oriental rugs, get a much more thorough cleaning if we can take them to our location. We can explain the process for both scenarios so that you can decide. We offer a complete line of cleaning and repair services for area rugs under our Bal Arisi brand. Visit our website for our area rug cleaning and repair services or to tour our wash facility.
  • Do you clean natural fiber carpets and rugs?
The short answer is yes, some of these we do clean. But there are some limitations to what can be done to restore natural fiber carpets such as jute, sisal, seagrass, bamboo, hemp and even paper which are popular right now. For the most part, these rugs are relatively inexpensive so when heavily stained or worn, are better off replaced. Here are some important things you should know about the care your natural fiber carpet. Natural fiber rugs are inherently absorbent and should not be place in damp environments or where spills are likely to occur. Use a vacuum with strong suction and brush attachment. A beater bar is not recommended. If you have a beater bar, please set it on the highest vertical setting. Short natural fibers from sisal, jute and seagrass may "sprout" during general handling and normal wear and tear. This is a normal part of some irregularities found in natural woven rugs. Never steam clean or wet-shampoo a natural fiber floor covering which can cause shrinkage, discoloration, and/ or staining. Have your rug professionally cleaned.
  • Will carpet cleaning remove fleas from my carpet or moths from my area rug?
No, carpet cleaning is a good secondary measure after professional extermination of pest (i.e., fleas, bed bugs, roaches, moths, etc.). We suggest having your home treated before having your carpets steam cleaned. The steam from the hot water extraction will kill the eggs, but the living fleas will survive and then return if you do not have pest control professionals treat the house. If your area rug has active moth infestation or you are unsure if it does, you should contact an exterminator to inspect and treat the rug or wool carpet before having it cleaned.
  • Can you fix ripples in my carpets?
Over time the wear of a carpet can lead to stretching and coming slightly away from the tacking strip holding carpets in place. When this happens, often, a homeowner will see ripples in their carpet. This is easily fixed by having a carpet installer re-kick the rug or tighten the rug back onto the tacking strip. McCartin's Services is not a qualified rug installer. We may be able to recommend a professional to you; just ask us when we arrive.
  • Are your cleaning products safe for my family and pets?
Yes, McCartin's Services uses products, people, pets, and planet-friendly. We practice conscientious carpet cleaning. McCartin's is owned by pet-owning outdoor enthusiasts who are dedicated to the protection of the environment including pets and the people that love them. We don't believe that you have to forgo the performance of a cleaning product for the safety of people, pets, and the planet. McCartin's only uses safe, biodegradable products. See a full list of product MSD information and our safe product promise.
  • I have allergies and/or sensitivity to smells. Does your carpet cleaning method help?
Having your carpets cleaned professionally by McCartin's Services will help with allergens in your rugs. Because our hot water extraction method uses water at a temperature of 240° and an extremely strong extraction force, any pollen, dust, and dirt will be removed from not only the surface but deep within your carpets. Our safe cleaning products are also odorless, so there will be no smell left behind except for the smell of an exceptionally clean carpet. Some clients ask for deodorizers to be used, and we can do that. When scheduling your service, let us know of any sensitivities/allergies that you may have. Read about the products we use.
  • Can you recommend methods to help mitigate accidents/spills on our carpet in between professional cleaning?
Yes, many accidental spills can be treated at home if addressed quickly. Sign up for our monthly newsletter to get quick tips and tricks to mitigate accidents before they become permanent stains. We also incude monthly specials in our email. Sign Up
  • How do you remove pet urine froma  rug?
See our step-by-step video on how to remove a pet stain from a rug.
  • What cleaning method do you use?
McCartin's Services uses a carpet cleaning method called hot water extraction, also known as steam cleaning, to clean carpets. We use a Butler system, a truck-mounted carpet cleaning system. This equipment uses a combination of hot water, high pressure, and a powerful vacuum to extract dirt and contamination.
